One touch surface dipslides for a closer look at your hygiene monitoring

Dipslides are an easy to use, easy to read product for the microbiological analysis of environmental surfaces and liquids in many industries including food, water, clinical, industrial and dental. The slides can be used to sample surfaces directly or dipped in liquid samples, providing ease of use and adaptability for obtaining the most accurate results. Slides are available double-sided, and can be double-sided with the same agar or differing.

The following dipslides are available from South Island Scientific:

  • DM-PC2T - Total Count, Double-sided slide, single agar
  • DM-RBS - Total Count & Yeast & Molds, Double-sided slide, multiple agar
  • DM-SCT - Total Count & Coliforms, Double-sided slide, multiple agar
  • DM-BP - Baird Parker, Double-sided slide, single agar

Product specifications:

Store at room temperature between +1°C to 30°C prior to use Suitable for use with a range of Matrices:

  • Liquid samples - suitable for a range of liquids, chemicals and water
  • Environmental Surfaces - test your surfaces with just one-touch

General directions for use:

Surfaces:

  • Remove cap and withdraw combined cap/tongue unit from outer tubing. Do not touch culture gel.
  • Holding the slide by the tab, press one side of the agar against the surface for testing. The ribbed portion of the dipslide, above the agar, will bend to allow full contact. Repeat with the second side on an area close to the first site.
  • Replace the slide in the outer tube, push to seal firmly, label as required and incubate as per instructions

Fluids:

  • Remove cap and withdraw combined cap/tongue unit from outer tubing. Do not touch culture gel.
  • For contained liquids; Dip the tongue in the desired fluid sample until agar is fully submerged. Wait for approx. ten seconds before removing from sample. Allow excess fluid to drain for a few seconds. For flowing liquids; Hold the slide under running liquid/spray sample so that both sides are covered. Allow excess fluid to drain for a few seconds
  • Replace in tube, push to seal firmly, label as required and incubate.

Incubation times:

Incubate as per instructions or as per required temperature for target organism

  • DM-PC2T – 24 – 48 hrs at 35 degrees
  • DM-RBS – 24 – 120 hrs at 30 degrees
  • DM-SCT – 24 – 48 hrs at 35 degrees
  • DM-BP – 24 – 48 hrs at 35 degrees

Incubation times:

  • DM-PC2T – 24 – 48 hrs at 35 degrees
  • DM-RBS – 24 – 120 hrs at 30 degrees
  • DM-SCT – 24 – 48 hrs at 35 degrees
  • DM-BP – 24 – 48 hrs at 35 degrees
